A residents' group sues to freeze Nebius's Independence data center mid-construction
The Independence Guard Alliance asked a Missouri court for a temporary restraining order and injunction against Nebius's ~500-acre AI data center, alleging the city rezoned the land in 2022 without notifying neighbours, signed eight NDAs around the power agreement, and authorised more than $150B in tax-abated bonds — the sum of the bond authorisation, not the project's cost.
