Micron and GM sign a strategic memory supply agreement for vehicles

Micron and General Motors signed a strategic customer agreement to secure GM's supply of memory and storage — LPDRAM, NOR and UFS NAND — for its future vehicles, including collaboration on product definition, system-level optimization and qualification of advanced memory. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Why it matters

Automakers are locking in memory supply as AI data-center demand tightens the market — DRAM prices are up roughly 70% since December. A multi-year direct agreement moves GM ahead of the spot-market squeeze and gives Micron a committed automotive channel alongside its data-center demand.
