Microsoft pulls its quantum-safe migration deadline forward to 2029

Microsoft said it is accelerating its Quantum Safe Program, with a goal of moving critical products and services to post-quantum cryptography by 2029. Azure CTO Mark Russinovich said cryptographically relevant quantum computers "could arrive sooner than previously expected," and the company pointed to "harvest now, decrypt later" collection as a present-day risk.
