AT&T expands its D-Wave deal after a 240x speedup — quantum annealing goes into production
AT&T signed an agreement to expand use of D-Wave's annealing quantum computers across network operations, after an early workload ran 240x faster — about an hour down to under 15 seconds. Next uses: outage response, technician routing, network planning, traffic management, layered into AT&T's agentic AI tools. D-Wave shares jumped ~20%.
